Death's a part of life
yet everyone grieves
And time is only seconds
Measured in minutes to hours
Until hours turn to days
And days turn to years
Still we both weep
Your wound is still fresh
And mine's left nasty scars
I weep for my loss
Though it was long ago
But I smile to know
He's in a better place
With streets paved of gold
no anger, hate, or disease
But still with you I weep
for I cry in remembrance
and we must never forget
