Winter's Land

by Unrequited   Dec 20, 2007

I poked my scorn in the eyes with this heart.
a body so torn,
and on fire with your gaze,

and I reach forward towards
an empty land
smothered by your winter.

but I still burn- and carry my cross
inside this sorrow, a pain
on which I feed.

I am comforted to know,
you are a vision my
eyes will never see again.

hang me on this cross
so I may breathe my last
and leave this winter's land.
