Unwanted Gift

by valenza   Dec 20, 2007

The rain falls like the heart in my chest.
And I'm screaming your name,
but the world's gone deaf.
How are you still taking,
when I have nothing left?

The cars pass by like the days without you.
I feel so old,
but I'm trying to start new.
Claustrophobic in a crowd so few.

I love you leaks out.
Like someone spitting when they talk.
Emotions set free without even a thought.
A present I didn't ask for,
It wasn't even bought.

The rubber slipped off,
like leaves on trees in the fall.
Word got out before I could call.
And I can't forget,
What I didn't want to remember at all.
