Jarrids Sunset

by DrunkenAngel   Dec 20, 2007

I miss the days where you would drive past my house
With every light in your car flashing
And you hanging out the window
Waving like crazy
And still trying to drive
I miss the days at the fire station
When you would get the hose and drench me from head to toe
Then think its funny and run when I turn the hose on you.

I remember the family photos
Where you would never be serious
Always making funny faces
Until you were in trouble and told to smile properly

At night I watch the sunset
I think of you
And how you used to come over
And watch the sunsets with me
And then I sit back and think
You’re up there somewhere
Still watching the sunsets with me
With a cuppa

This poem is dedicated to
My cousin Jarrid who was killed in a truck accident
11th November 1970 – 3rd January 2006
