The true meaning of christmas

I read an article that kids do not know the true meaning of christmas ,
and that the nativity scene is no longer seen in school these days.
That in many schools the story of christmas is not taught ,
and its a shame too that parents are not invited in some to watch the plays.

In the school I work at and its the one my youngest does attend ,
they were taught about the christmas story and I did get to watch my son in his play.
The play did not tell the christmas story instead it was titled 'all around the world' ,
with a song sung for each part of the world it was still something the kids learnt from and very good I have to say.

As for being taught the true meaning of christmas surely its not just down to the school ? ,
at home we have a lovely book called 'the christmas story' and its one we read every year.
I think its important for my kids to know that its not just about how many presents they get ,
they know the christmas story of by heart now but its still a story they love to hear.

My kids do know that the true meaning of christmas is about the birth of baby Jesus ,
for those that don't know we can't just blame the schools for parents are a childs teacher too.
Not only do my kids think about the christmas story they also think of others that may not have a lot ,
yes they do wish for lots of things but realise they can't have everything but that is like most kids that also want alot its true.
