You're my Adam and I'm your Eve,
we sat beneath the apple tree,
You took an apple and cut it in two,
one half for me and the other for you.
"Take this" you said, "it will never go bad"
"Keep it safe while I am gone"
"And when both our journey's are over"
"The two halves will once again be one".
I waited many years,
And you didn't come for me,
so I told myself to start my life,
and forget about the dream.
I longed for you my first love,
The Saviour of my heart,
I made so many stupid mistakes,
trying to fill the missing parts.
I wandered through many others hearts,
looking there for you,
and convinced myself I'd found you in them,
But none of it was true.
Then one day, there you were,
A little older, a little worn,
but your face I could remember,
from long before I was born.
You reached into your pocket,
and I reached into mine too,
we both pulled out the apple halves,
And said " I've been searching for you".
You see, fate is uncontrollable,
we do not have any say,
we can only wait and see,
If good things will come our way.
I had a dream long ago,
and I know you had it too,
I knew we'd be together,
when both our journey's were through.
The moral of this story,
is clear for all to see,
I was born to be with you,
and you to be with me.
