Red Tiles

by Melanie   Dec 24, 2007

Square tiles covered in red
It's hard to escape one there's four dead ends
Every try you make
You hit a corner with a sign to stay
It's built with only so many tiles
They're made for people who stay for more than a while
The tile has just been placed with glue
The stay involves nothing but the truth not clues
The longer you stay
Dryer the tiles will lay
Soon it will take forever to cut it out
Because there's still little broken pieces left to figure out
Once the whole tile is gone
It's easier to move on
But knowing there's a hole
You answer your questions with I don't know
Because you feel shattered
Just as you reached at the top of the ladder
Where it took forever to be so high
That in the end when everything falls you'll have to cry
When that meaningful tile is gone
You'll dwell over it wondering what went wrong
The tile is from your heart that's shattered into pieces
She then admits she's leavin

i liked the kind or metaphore you used for the friend as the tile
    keep up the great work!
