Dear Beloved

by Hannah Emellia   Dec 24, 2007

Dear Beloved,

When you close your eyes-
Do you glimpse things that should never be?
And do you hear the awful cries-
Of the like which torture me?

In an instant do you take-
A breath to cool the burning deep inside?
Do you wear a smile that is fake,
Just to build a wall around the tears you hide?

Do you keep us all in ignorance,
For our good- or is it all for you?
Look into a mirror- do you see significance?
Or do you see the one to pay your due?

Are you right, or do you really think-
That you're the one who knows it all?
Don't you know you're on the brink,
Let us in or take your fatal fall.

You're not saving us from anything,
Let us know the real you...
Don't leave us in our daze- still mourning.
Tell us something that is true.

Don't make us plead- we don't deserve to-
We see your life turning to tragedy.
Don't lock yourself within your world of blue,
We cannot save you from the things we cannot see.

Very deep poem, it has a powerful message and the way you wrote it is original and interesting. Emotions are also expressed greatly, well done! I enjoyed in every line, atmosphere that you created here is also good.
