For the moment I had you

by ToWriteLoveOnHerArms   Dec 25, 2007

Honesty pours out of my mouth,
Regrettably gone noticed.
I had you for a mere second,
It was what I had wished.
But all good must come with an end,
And every love story has its flaw.
Other people disagreed,
As if we were breaking some sort of law.
Your life a mess,
They never seemed to care.
What they wanted,
Made my heart tear.

For the moment I had you,
I noticed something I had not before.
The way your eyes sparkled,
The way your hair was worn.
I felt the warmth of your fingertips,
And the love in your kiss.
I finally realized,
Why it was you that I had missed.
And I must say,
I don’t believe I will be forgetting you.
Whether it be a few days,
A decade or two.
I’ll be waiting here,
My arms wide open.
I give you my heart,
Mistake or not.
