Our Innocent Days

by UNbrOKen   Dec 27, 2007

What happened to our younger days,
Where innocence is all We'd say,
Before the days where drama takes place,
When we Wouldn't sit in a daze,
Thinking of past mistakes made,
What happened to the days,
When we were young and still played,
Played with dolls and sand box toys,
Instead of addiction and Stupid Boys,
What ever happened to boys have Cooties"?
And now they are the ones we try to impress.
What happened to kids being kids?
Living the part of Our life we only live once.
Why can't we stay kids longer than when we hit age 10?
Ages where we should still have innocence,
What happened to the good ole days,
Where kids were Sweet and Kind,
And now we're Mean and Nasty,
Why do we get pressured To do things we know are wrong?
And the consequences themselves last long,
And What happened to those songs?
The lullabies,
That told us goodnight,
"The bed bugs won't bite,"
And No Monster's Will fight,
But nowadays.
There's monsters from our past,
Making the fights last,
Letting the bugs get at us,
And when the Cradle rocked,
It seemed as if we fell and the cradle was left out of sight,
We felt safe in that cradle at night,
And now.
We can't get a wink of shut eye,
But plenty of tears,
Because of all those people that walk in and out of our life,
And use Us like a rug,
So here's to those Innocent days We miss,
That got all Turned and Flipped
