Nick and Bobby

by Brandy Siegmund   Dec 28, 2007

One quiet day in one quiet town
The town square clock turned upside-down
The Clock Keeper shrieked and cried in fear
When three black crows did appear
The keeper stood frozen in shock
The crows took over his body his soul now locked
In the clock tower they watched the land
Ruling the town with fear in his mighty winged hand

Watch by night and hunt by day
When little children come out to play
Youthful souls the Keeperâ??s body thirsts
A day without youth his body would burst
A little girl here a little boy there
Fly Swoop Pluck! Right into thin air
His tasks are done for one hundred years
The only thing this little town fears

One day standing in the box of sand
Stood a little boy and his little right-hand man
One was Strong! His name was Nick
He had a might sword that was really a stick
Bobby was the other and was very Smart!
Head full of knowledge and both with brave hearts
Together they make the perfect pair
To fight this winged man in the air

Their plan simple and easy to see
Skip nap time and snack time to sit in the tree
They watched and watched for that scary Bird Man
Hoping heâ??ll come to walk the land
Sword at hand and head thinking hard
This battle would soon make them stars
They sat high in that tree for days
No nap No snack No fun No play

Seven days later the Keeper was seen
Last dieing children fed this horrible thing
The Keeper watch the sand box in hopes of a treat
These two little boys he wanted to eat
He stopped to rest not a minute too soon
The boys attacked with a mighty boom!
The battle took off as they fought hard and strong
To defeat the Keeper and end his creepy bird song

Finally Bobby had an idea for Nick
And handed up his sword that was really a stick
Nick took his sword and with a giant swing
Took the Keeper to his death with a strike at his wing
The crows flew out the body looked dead
Until life shown in gentle eyes in his head
The Keeper lived happy after the crows flew away
Town fear now gone for at least another day

In a near field a Scarecrow quietly stood
But no one knew he was up to no good
He had led these crows for all those years
But now that theyâ??re gone the town has no fears
These boys the Scarecrow despised
To find Nick and Bobby he pealed his eyes
A stroll through the park to find these boys
That all this times shouldâ??ve been playing with toys

Nick and Bobby now in for a treat
The Scarecrow thought these kids he could beat
While standing in the box of sand
He held a stick in his hand
A book also sat in the sand to find
A name there written on its spine
Nick and Bobby the children to seek
They didnâ??t know the Scarecrow theyâ??d meet

Without his sword that was really a stick
Nick now knew he had to think quick
Bobby hid and searched for a clue
To try to tell Nick what he should do
Bobby then saw something hanging on that Fool!
He pointed and Nick saw a straw to pull
No sword in hand Nick then reached out
He took the straw and pulled it out

One by one they pulled each piece
In hope of his evil would soon take cease
The pile of straw now started to grow
The Scarecrowâ??s weakness now started to show
The Scarecrow fell and hit the ground
A new found glory Nick and Bobby now found
The town can rest ay ease once more
Until evil comes again to knock on the door

Nap time finally for these two boys small
But couldnâ??t rest for very long at all
The town Farmer came to the door and knocked
And tried to enter but the door was locked
They opened the door without a clue
Not knowing what the Farmer was now to do
He yelled and screamed for no scarecrow he now had
Nothing to scare crows making his crops bad

The Farmer raised his hand high to swing
The boys ran to hide from this crazy thing!
The Farmer was very outraged now
Wanting to win but he didnâ??t know how
They ran and ran from the scary man
Until they reached his own farmland
He had them cornered and couldnâ??t leave
But stopped the Farmer with a great big heave

They stopped and talked to figure this out
No yelling No screaming No reason to shout
A new scarecrow together they would build
One that was nice to stand in the field
To keep all crops safe and sound from the birds
Without needing to say any mean hateful words
A friend to all built with love
Not sending the town crows, but sending doves

No more fights or youthful deaths
No having to worry with every breath
The town could now be normal again
Knowing the villains are now just good friends
Even the Keeper felt he had good luck
And fixed the clock now turned right-side-up
Happy faces now all around
With no bad guys or clocks upside-down

Nick and Bobby are all grown now
And friends with the farmer and now even his cow
The Scarecrow and Birds now live in peace
All evil things had finally ceased

The town stays safe and quiet at last
No matter how crazy it was in the past
Happy endings now all around
Thanks to two boys of this small town.
