How Do You Do It

by Kristi White   Dec 30, 2007

I don't know how you can do it.
How well your composure hides.
You're sitting there in her arms
with me inside your mind.
I don't know how you can do it.
How you sleep so well.
Knowing that you'll dream of me
wishing it was real.
I don't know how you can do it.
How well you block the tears you cry.
I hear the painful song
that's playing in your mind.
I don't know how you can do it
and act like we were just pretend.
How can you say that we were fake
after everywhere we've been?
I don't know how you can do it
acting like you're not effected at all.
It's not until we're finally alone
that your concreted smile starts to fall.
I don't know how you can do it
but I wish that I could as well.
I wish I had the strength
to hide the way I feel.
