Doomed Flower <3

by Katy   Dec 31, 2007

The crimson bloom
Of sorrowed hearts,
Gentle touch
The bruising starts,
Tender petals,
Silken tears,
Fragile glisten,
Trembling fears.

Wrapped in wire,
Coiled in thorns,
A tortured crown
The bloom adorns.

Dewdrops captured
Reaching out,
Through the pain
Between the doubt,
Twixt the tendrils
Coiled and thorned,
Past the sting
Of living scorned.

Poised upon
A velvet leaf,
Fragile,
Balanced,
Shining,
Brief.

Till from crimson
Grace it slips,
Plummets as
The petal dips,
Spent so brief
And vanished so,
Leaves the thickened
Thorns to grow.

Like an armor
Round the bloom,
Vibrant visions
Sundered doom,
Left to wilt
From ravished hour,
Such the fate
Of distant flower.
