Time

by Hannah Mhairi   Jan 1, 2008

Rewinding time,
back to when all was fine,
undoing every mistake,
I've made in this life of mine.

Finding me when I was young,
Back to when you were all there,
Watching this tape rewind to the time,
That I had lost somewhere.

Somewhere deep in my heart,
I remember that little girl,
And how happy she was,
Before seeing the cruel world.

Before she realised poverty,
And the tragedies of war,
Watching this little girl believe,
There's something worth living for.

When looking back on those years,
It's hard to believe she's me,
I bet she wouldn't have grown up,
If she knew this is how life would be.

Whenever I watch these tapes,
I remember the joy once mine,
This is why I love to,
Sit and rewind the time.

I'll stop time there and not let it move,
To where I am today,
Because it's hard to watch this girl,
Throw her own life away.
