Happiness In Sorrow of Memories

by Aage Crow   Jan 5, 2008

Something inside me starts to glow
As I lay where the river flow
The stars above never so heavenly
As the gift you've given me
The gift of smiles and happiness
A gift that gave me true bliss
Only still I sit here with this flower
Wishing our love could grant me more power
To help you up when I made you fall
And answer your prayer that you call
Unfortunate it is my horrible fate
To never again see your face
Forever lost the taste of your lips
Not once will they touch in tender kiss
Your warm embrace in which I long for
The thought of it gone makes me so sore
It is only here that I am in peace
Under the willow trees I lay at ease

This was a beautiful sad poem. I usually consider nature to be peaceful and in this poem you show that not only does it have a sense of underlying peace, but also a sense of inner knowledge and remembering.
