Like A Rose That Will Never Rise

by HollywoodSmile   Jan 6, 2008

Like a rose that never dies,
sensual love lightens our lives.
The shadows on her face
have reserved a special place
in my heart forever,
So I’ll love them, now or never.

Like a rose that only wilts,
love is poorly built,
only to fall again.
Erecting memories of what has been
love makes me want to die
moments after it makes me high.

Like a rose that has no ties,
love will always fly
high above the rest
because its glorified for its best.
No one sees love’s worst.
Love, like a balloon, can only burst.

Like a rose that rests in a vase,
love will always have a place
inside my mind - it hides!
No one in which to confide
my fears that love will die away
like the pieces of yesterday.

Like a rose that gets me high,
love straddles my mind
and leaves me begging for more
as I OD on the floor.
I am not unlike the others,
I beg for one hit after another.
