Emptiness

by Kathryn H   Jan 8, 2008

Emptiness
Hollow branches
With snow filled
Covering and deepening
Shivering from the cold
Blank because of you
Buried from within
I no longer have any skin
My heart is left behind
With my soul intertwined
With a man I wish I never knew
And pray that one day
I will not feel harmed
I have nothing left
But my branches
That will hope to grow
A heart that has fallen out
And I wish to sew
As for my soul
I will never know
Until the snow melts
