Mirror, Mirror

by Devon   Jan 8, 2008

Mirror, mirror
Tell me please,
who is this girl I see?
She looks so fragil
her skin so pale and perfect
Crystals fall from sea blue eyes
leaving trails of silver
Her cheeks hold a cherry hue,
her lips as red as velvet roses.
As she smiles the whole room glows
with the magic of her beauty.

Mirror, mirror.
Tell me please,
this girl can not be me
for my eyes do not glisten
they simply show my hurt.
The tears I cry are secret notes
of each time I broke.
This girls smile, so beautiful
so pure,
it could not belong to me
for my smile is never true
only a mask proving my mediocrity

Mirror, mirror
tell me please,
How long shall I envy thee?
For she is always seen
but no one ever sees me?
