The Girl

Have you seen the person over there
the one who always smiles.
I'll bet you think she's always happy,
But I know that it's all lies.

'Cause after school she'd go straight home,
And cry silent tears.
Why should she bother to make a noise,
When no one ever hears?

She doesn't know why she cries
'Cause all is good and well.
She gets good grades and loads of friends,
But no one seems to tell.

That she wakes up everyday
And puts on a fake smile.
At school they tell her that she's great,
But she thinks that she's vile.

She's tired of pretending
To be happy, to be glad.
But she doesn't want people to worry
She doesn't want them to feel bad.

So she puts on a fake smile
And on her way she goes.
She'll face this by herself
So no one ever knows.
