My Dad

We buried you today, Dad.
six feet down in the ground
Your lying there in your casket
Never to make a sound.

Everyone else tells me
That God wanted you
But why doesn't God realize
That we wanted you, too?

I know this sounds mean
But its just not fair
God gets you all to himself
and he cleaned me bare.

I know I should accept this
"Move on,But never forget" They say
But I just can't help but wonder
why you just couldn't stay.

You always knew exactly what to say
when i needed you the most
All your kind and comforting words
Always brought me and you close.

You were always there for me
You were my best friend
I thought you'd be around forever
I thought it would never end.

I'm standing in our house
With all our family and friends around
But i still feel so alone without you
Every sound in the room starts to drown

I hear the last things you said to me,
"I think its finally coming to an end
Angel, I know this is going to hurt
But the rules i cannot bend

I know you want me here forever
And I would stay if i could
But God has other plans for me

Now I finally know why God took you
he had a good reason you see
