To Set Them Free

by doXyouXeverXwonder   Jan 12, 2008

Bruised, broken, sad, alone
I walk this long road on my own
They yell and jeer on either side
The tears on my cheek I cannot hide
I feel the stares as I walk past
Hoping the shame doesnt last
The sin of all men weighs me down
As they walk me through the town
I look ahead and see the hill
Where my destiny will be fulfilled
Thoughts scream inside my mind
Are they all completely blind?
I carry all their sin and pain
Because of them, I will be slain
Father help them, I silently pray
Help them, please, to find Your way
Now they place upon my brow
A crown of thorns, Oh Lord why now?
Please take this all away from me
If its Your will, or let it be
I know I must be sacrificed
For all the world, I must pay the price
And now they set me on the tree
Its all for them. To set them free.
