Lesser

by Kalie M   Jan 14, 2008

With what she has in mind
leaves memories behind
packs her bags in tears
with hope unraveling fears

holding onto molds
away but she still holds
pulling back her hair
walking each long sidewalk square

looking up above
praying for no lesser love
belongings fall from each step
her proving trail a greater mess

guilt and sorrow reveal
but happiness she must feel
left with no other choice
but lead to a lesser voice

destination alive
but prevailing hearts do subside
combinations he has to know
realization of what's been chose.

then..

standing within last sidewalk's stride
looking at friends on each side
she drops the heavy bags she held
empty-handedly off the curb repelled

paralyzed mess of sand she's in
looks at the sidewalk, but only pretends
face-down she tries to break away
but paralyzation is this chosen way

her lesser mind soon to settle
a new bag packed but not for better

today her bags small, only one thing remains
as she pulls it out for memories sake
she cant believe it wasn't dropped
but thankfully, you cant make her heart stop.
