Lost and {delirious}

by meredith   Jan 15, 2008

Her eyes, once so magnetic
seem empty as they stare,
past dark lashes, {out} into darkness.
f**k love, give her fire;
this is not enough.

casting shadows near a streetlight,
she is the still point {of} the turning world.
with scarlet {pain}t gracing her fingernails
that makes you think of blood and rosary beads;
redlight district heartbreakertraitor

your favorite drug,
she has the scars of a wanton {beauty}
worn weary by wasted wants.
she's lost faith, lost and delirious;
what {does} she believe?

she was once wild here, burned fire and flame.
{come} winter froze her spark,
leaving naught but embers.
this is how the world ends;
fire gone to ashes.
