Our World

by Sarah Parsons   Jan 15, 2008

An empty obsession
A bottomless pit
A tree without leaves
An apple without pips

An untrue gesture
A plastic dove
A world without wisdom
A world without love

A sun made of cardboard
A raging sea
flowers gasping for air
no philosophy

Mindless playing
dabbling with drugs
Obsession with sex
A world full of thugs

Things so shallow
have become so deep
why cant people see
what you sow is what you reap

A heart thats aching
comes from God above
his arms are open wide
with abounding love.
