A Torn Heart

by Matt Arent   Jan 16, 2008

We spoke for a long time that day,
Beyond happy with each other.
But then we started to fight,
It tore us apart in more than one way,
My heart is in two.
I can't look at you anymore,
I see the past that I want to forget.
You say you have and will change for me,
But I don't want you to change who you are.
An us was just never ment to be,
Friends is all we will be.
Recover from this is impossible,
Not even the most stable person would recover.
I grabbed your hand,
You pulled it away.
I rubbed your arms,
You turned your head.
That point proved everything,
I decided to leave at that time.
I was broken into pieces,
Like a mirror beign hit by a hammer.
You took my pain away,
Now it all returns knowing its home is here forever.
