Lament

by Neil Marsden   Jan 18, 2008

I taste this day a yearning,
A bittersweet bouquet.
As the fire of love still burning,
Lacks any warmth today.

The radiant face remembered,
Now faded by times decay.
And cruelly dismembered,
By the truth from yesterday.

Neil Graham Marsden.
