A Brother to a Sister

by sonu   Jan 21, 2008

When I was born,
You looked at me and smiled,
And when I opened my eyes and looked at you,
You seemed to be overjoyed.
You would clap your hands and dance,
And kiss me time and again,
You would tickle me to see,
If I would smile back at thee.
Now you didn't like your toys,
For it was me you wanted to play,
You would even wake me from my sleep,
And then watch me cry all day.
When everyone would hold me in their arms,
You would stretch your arms and ask,
If you could hold me too,
They would tell you "Wait until you grew"
Irritated and annoyed.
You would cry your eyes out dry,
Bang your feet, scream and yell,
What you would do next no one could tell.
Then one day you held me in your arms,
Realizing soon how heavy I was,
Your arms wanting to let go,
What you did next, I want to know.
You were there with me at all times,
When I took my first step and fell,
You would wipe the tears from my face,
And I could feel your warm embrace.
You always showed love and care,
And helped me face my fears,
And filled my life with happiness,
With no place for sadness and tears.
Now that you are working,
We hardly get time to talk,
Bring back the old days,
Hold my hand let's go for a walk.
And soon you will get married,
But that would not change you,
You would love me even more,
And remember, "I love you, yes I do".
