It glides silently
Hinting at a raging storm
Held inside the heart
Hidden from the start

It slides merrily
Meandering over the smiles curves
Overcome with joy
By the kiss of a boy

It falls desperately
Trying to hold on
Followed by many more
If he walks away and out that door.

It lingers speechless
Glistening in the candlelight
As he descends in front of me
With a ring in his hand, on one knee

So many roles
For so small an thing
Between falling in love and saying goodbye
Try to remember next time you cry.
