My Chance

by Marissa Marzano   Jan 23, 2008

All through my life
Things have come my way
And so far, I've been prepared
Until this very day.

As he walks through the door
With his skateboard in his hand
It's about time i tell him the truth
It's time to make my stand.

6 months have past
And it's time for him to leave
And as i give him his last hug goodbye
I slip a note up his sleeve.

He kisses his girlfriend, one last goodbye
As she cries out allowed.
A tear is seen running down my face
As he drifts off into the crowd.

I just wish i had the chance
To tell it to his face
"I love you" was all it took
But my heart began to race.

One year has passed
Not a word from him since
I would give up anything
To catch a second glimpse.

5 years from now
He'll be gone for sure
I'll never forget the day
I saw him walk out the door.

I saw that i had my chance
And i blew it long ago
Where i thought that just for one day
That we could take it slow.
