The Dead Walk Among Us

by Michael Flynn   Jan 24, 2008

There is much speculation as to what happens to a man when he dies
Some say he ascends to God to be judged while his body decays were it lies
Others say he is reincarnated or his essence is absorbed into nature
While others believe he just disappears like some sort of gas or vapor.

But is it possible for the dead to remain
For the soul to linger long after the hearts restrained
For the spirit of the departed to walk among the living
For the soul to wander searching for that thing that they are missing

I have discovered proof that the dead walk among us
Their souls tortured and twisted searching for Eros
Their existence reduced to no more than pain and strife
Looking for something that was missing in life

I have seen their lost spirits wandering the street
The world oblivious to each one they meet
I have seen their tear filled eyes in the mirror staring back at me
For I am one of those tortured souls you see

My heart stopped beating some years ago
When someone I loved dealt me a fatal blow
Now my spirit wanders broken among living
Hoping to find someone with a love worth giving.

    Oh my... That is...
Speechless...That was so amazing, you don't understand. You captured all feelings of emptyness after a love lost. Beautiful
