Alive In A Dream

by Beautiful Chaos   Jan 24, 2008

I close my eyes each night,
I know I'll see you there,
Deep within my dreams,
Lives everything we share.

Our lips still meet,
Eyes still lock,
Full of love,
Devoid of shock.

It's the waking world,
That is not real,
Too full of pain,
To ever heal.

Drenched in sorrow,
For your loss,
The blackest days,
I've come across.

When I sleep,
The light shines in,
I see your face,
And touch your skin.

Here is where,
I'll come to stay,
Waking not,
To sweet decay.

My favorite stanza was the last one. I felt like the first stanza didn't fit in with the rest of the poem. It was longer and, although it still flowed well, the rest of the stanza's were very short and direct. I still give it a 5/5 though
