Peace On Erath

by Vernon   Jan 25, 2008

Why do we hate, why do we fight
And why do we find it so hard to forgive
What we need is God with his might
To show us right, and peace on earth to retrieve

If only every child on the street,
Had clothes to wear, shoes on his feet,
Water to drink, food to eat and a bed to sleep
Then we would fulfil the simple need

If only we give and not long to gave,
Think of how many lives we would save.
Spread love amongst one another,
And treat one like our brother.

If every time we regret, a mouth would be fed
Think of how many would go hungry to bed.
So stop hating and start to give
Then we would live as Jesus lives!

I like the idea of the poem, and think it could be much better if you just changed a few things, like the fact that the rhyming structure in the first stanza is different to all the others, as well as perhaps restructuring some of the lines because they seem a little muddledat times. I think if you changed these couple of things or just work on it a little more then this piece could be much stronger and powerful.
