The Phone Call

by Jes Miller   Jan 26, 2008

Early in the evening she received a phone call,
From the sound of his voice she knew something was wrong,
After a long silence he whispered I have cancer,
At that given moment she felt her heart stop,
She didnt want to believe his words but by the sound of his voice she knew it was true,
The answers to her questions crushed her heart,
At that point she couldnt control her tears,
She knew she was showing her weak side but couldnt pull herself together,
Every minute everyday she was scared but knew she had to stay strong,
She loved him and she wasnt bound to leave his side,
He wasnt just her boyfriend,
But a fighter.
And a survivor.
