Certainly....Maybe....Hopefully

by Nicole Haut   Jan 28, 2008

Pessimism drips deep into the core,
Of a heart long shriveled,
She feigns Optimism easily these days.
I suppose they should never know.
But god she is trying so damn hard just to forget,
How much she thinks she has failed.
In her eyes she is unworthy to everyone,
Her soul, full of mirth and disattachment.
Hope went missing,
With every blow,
Mind-alterting substances are losing their effect of comfort.
Love once seemed conquerable,
but these days she knows,
that love for her is intolerable,
it's something foreign.
What happened to feelings of belonging?
Her eyes are empty,
How can they think that she has it under control.
Her life is a toss up,
She may never catch it,
Every day she tries, but it seems impossible.
She is nothing more than an empty cavity,
with nothing to believe in,
nothing to love.
These feelings are slicing like the claws of a savage beast,
Through her mind body and soul.
Nothing to feel,
No one to talk to,
But she talks to everyone,
Deep inside she is hiding,
In a sea of self-loathing and doubt.
