Stone

by cri   Jan 28, 2008

I died inside the day she left me for him
My greatest ally had become my greatest foe
He harboured feelings that none had known
I had loved her with all my heart and yet she left
That day, I became stone

We had been friends for years
And yet betrayal came so easily and swift
They hadn’t the heart to tell me
I discovered them by chance
The day I saw them, I became stone

When I saw him next I hurt him
For him, pain came easily and swift
An imprint of teeth from my ring
Remained on his forehead for all to see
The day I hit him, I became stone

I still love her with half my heart
It longs for her forever
The other half is filled with hate
It wants to execute him still
Every time I think of her my stone heart bleeds
