Perfect Family

Didn't you see the report card?
I left it there for you.
Didn't you see my pretty markings?
I made them for you to.
Didn't you see the razor?
It was always by my side.
Didn't you hear the crying?
It happened every night.
Didn't you notice the cigarettes?
There were Right here on the floor.
Didn't you see the liquor?
You passed it at the door.
Didn't you see the drugs?
They were on my midnight stand.
Didn't you read the suicide poems?
I placed them in your hand.
Didn't you see the pills?
I carried them in my pocket.
Did you ever notice your unhappy child?
The reminder was always in your wallet.
What happened to that child
that always made you proud?
What happened to your child
that you couldn't live without?
What happened to my parents
who always knew to fix what was wrong?
What happened to the perfect family
that was never perfect at all?
What made us drift away
and pulled the family apart?
The only signs you would never see
are the bruises on my heart.

I liked the flow of it and the strong message it gave off. Very cool.
