I Believe

by ari   Jan 30, 2008

Dear dear,
it seems I've made a mess of things.
Every mistake is a lie I can retell
over and over again,
but only at your expense.
I've been meaning to tell you
that there can be truths hidden in my mistakes.

Cut out my tongue,
would you believe it if it whispered in your ear?
If I took away your hands I wouldn't love you.
I'm only reminded by your touch
that I believe in us.
I believe in us, I believe in lust.

Now I only believe in
reciprocations and repercussions.
So hit me with your best shot,
I deserve every single scratch and bruise
that you can't give me.
I've got your hands in mine
and our fingers laced together like a poison.
We're so addicting.

I believe in us, I believe in lust.

Cut out my tongue,
would you believe it if it whispered in your ear?
I took away your hands and I still love you.
I'm only reminded by your touch
that I believe in love.
I believe in us, I believe in lust.

I'll scream at the useless night.
I'll suffocate what I really mean with your hands.
I'm running away to chase forever with you,
leaving another day forgotten and alone
without a memory.
Make one more for this last second spent in your arms.
Take me and tell me you believe.

(Believe in us, believe in lust.)
