Friends, I Suppose

by goldie   Jan 31, 2008

Unable to speak to you
I bottle up my feelings
Unable to understand your actions
I'm left alone with my thoughts
This feeling of drifting
The foreseeing of friendships ending
Most painful and long lasting
So confusing and heart breaking
I try to talk to you
But that's not an option
The way I smile
Always faking and laughing
Constantly putting up a front
To hide my true feelings
I guess we were never that close
Since a true friend would see
Right through that front
Unable to speak my mind
Unable to clear my thoughts
The pain just grows
And the frustration starts
I see you changing slowly
Turning into a stranger
Becoming someone I never knew
As we continue to drift
You seem to get happier
As if this was all just a plan
For you to not seem like a loner
Now that you're back on track
You appear to be covering the path
That you've once been down before
The path that I thought would
Be the trail which all our memories are held
