Do Not Look Back

by Janine Meyer   Jan 31, 2008

It Comes with shame,
Some memories of the past.
You want to hide from it,
And shove it out of your thoughts.
All those things you do not want to recall,
Or live over again.
But it creeps carelessly into your mind out of nowhere,
Every now and then.

My fellow friends, If you try so hard,
To examine your life,
There from the start,
To run away from your past,
To pretend it was not there,
It will find you,
Haunt you,
And not leave you alone anywhere.

So take off your coat.
Take it easy, Do not just try,
Know they exist,
The troubles of the past,
The dark clouds in the sky.
Do not wonder too much,
And do not sit and wonder why?

Remember and remind yourself,
Everyone carries a heavy load,
A heavy pack.
Rather look at the future,
At how you can empty that,
Sometimes unpleasant sack.

Thank God for the privileges,
And his gift of piece of mind.
But most of all,
Do not WASTE your time by always looking back!
