You Or The Sunset?

by Chelsea   Feb 3, 2008

Silently crying tears of gold
Not nearly at the age of old
Angry at this voice that yells too loudly in my head.

Sitting back to watch you fall
Knowing that this can't be all
Wanting nothing more than to hear your heartbeat in my head.

Shunning the needle, embracing the ink
Thinking so fast, it can't be to think
Feeling your touch as I scrape these nails across this skin.

Facing the truth, but avoiding the facts
Looking at my life like it's an act
Knowing that no matter what I do, I can't just simply win.

Music blasting in my ears
Til blood runs out and I can't hear
And now I cry because I can't hear your voice anymore.

But out the window there's a light
It could be you--a gorgeous sight
I pray it's not another sunset on another sandy shore.

You fade; I don't want you to leave
If anything, I just want to believe
That you will always be here when I need your helping hand.

You're gone, they turn to tears of cold
There's no one else I'd love to hold
I look out--It's just another sunset on the sand.
