Each Night

by ari   Feb 3, 2008

Everything i want to say
pressing down inside my chest
chances are
this breaking heart of mine will never heal
cracking a little more each night
your white lies bleaching this black sky blue
smelling like her
like cigarettes and sex
losing yourself in those sensations
of smoke combined with pleasure
red high heels and seduction
you don't remember
holding my hands
hugging me tight
being beside me each night
knowing you don't care
it's tearing me apart
with every single cold kiss
your warmth
it's left me to heat up
another bored city girl's life
i haven't got skyscrapers in my eyes
or sewers in my veins
i just know
that you'll be in one of those
brightly lit windows each night
it makes me hate the city
every possibility
forces me to remember
that i just wasn't good enough.
