Laying in Fields

by Gale   Feb 5, 2008

Walking into the woods you go
I'm hesitant to follow
"Come on. Don't just stand there," You yell
But I stay where I am
Afraid of what might happen
Between you and me

I finally give in and walk
Follow you deeper and deeper in
Climbing over and under the Life
Trying to keep my distance
It's hard to handle this
Just being friends isn't helping

We decide to go back to the house
I walk behind and watch you stroll
If only it wasn't like this
If only the odds were different
But I don't worry about that now
As I tackle you into the grass

We lay there forever
Your head against my chest
My hand on your thigh
Eternal bliss is what I live in
"Dreaming" for you
Of you

Watching the clouds go by
Wasting that wednesday afternoon
I want so much to tell you
How I really feel
But it wouldn't have made a difference
this was beyond anything I could do

We lie there for a while longer
Eventually standing to leave from that place
I wish we hadn't
It was one of our shining moments
I wish we could go on forever
Together in bliss.
