The Girl I Once Knew

by SomewhereAmongThePieces   Feb 6, 2008

Let me tell you about a girl I once knew
With red curly hair and eyes of blue
She had wisdom beyond her years
The girl I once knew

You could always go to her on a really bad day
and she always had the right thing to say
She was so put together
The girl I once knew

Whenever you had a question or doubt
she could help you figure it out
She had it ALL figured out
The girl I once knew

She was a picture of beauty and pure as gold
Equally humble, she was a perfect mold
I will never forget her
The girl I once knew

Now let me tell you about how she died
It's a tragic story but nobody cried
she got so lost and confused
The girl I once knew

She forsook the God she used to trust
got caught up in drugs, alcohol and lust
Now she's gone forever
The girl I once knew

so I lie here in bed remembering what I once was
I think I might be pregnant so I can't sleep off this buzz
Oh god... how I miss her
The girl I once knew
