This life

This life is made up of things to foresee,
Nothing seems real till it happens to me.
So go about your business in hopes it's all right,
Whatever it takes you to sleep good at night.

Life is about making choices and decisions,
Not taught in school like long division.
If your division is wrong you can make a correction,
Till you get the right path and proper direction.

In life you mess up and there is no turning back,
This world might just need to dish out some slack.
I've messed up from time to time,
This time I'm not sure it'll be fine.

You can't go on living on thin cracked ice,
Living like this you will pay a price.
In sickness and in health till death do us part,
So what, people make mistakes so don't even start.

If life goes on then so can we,
This pain I've unleashed infects you and me.
I feel better now there is nothing for me to hide,
To rip and tear at me deep inside.

So make up your mind and don't waste time,
In the end we all pay for our crimes.
The clock is ticking...
The punishment sticking,
Time is wasting...
Horrible is tasting,
And life's to short.

This life is made up of things to foresee,
Nothing seems real till it happens to me.
So go about your business in hopes it's all right,
Whatever it takes you to sleep good at night.

My husband became inspired by one of my poems and this is one he had come up with.
