Dr .Sandeep Kumar Kar is an anesthesiologist from Kolkata .He did his schooling from D.M School R.I.E Bhubaneswar, MBBS from N.R.S MEDICAL COLLEGE KOLKATA, currently final year Postgraduate trainee M.D Anesthesiology in I.P.G.M.E& R KOLKATA.

Represented India in World Anesthesia Congress in Rome with 3 research papers, in April 2011. Won the best paper award JANAK MEHTA AWARD in cardiac anesthesia in feburary 2011.
Best poster award in cardiac anesthesia in IACTA 2011 BANGLORE. He has participated and presented numerous research papers in anesthesiology both national and international conferences.

His paper on Effect of music therpay on fentanyl propofol and vecuronium requirement and cortisol levels in cardio-pulmonary bypass was a phenomenon in its own ,again selected to be presented in WCA (WORLD CONGRESS OF ANESTHESIOLOGISTS ) ARGENTINA IN MARCH 2012.
1. Attended NWAC World Anaesthesia congress at ROME (ITALY) from 11th- 15th April 2011 with the following study papers .

a) Effect of Indian Classical Music (Raga Therapy) on Fentanyl, Vecuronium, Propofol requirement and cortisol levels in Cardiopulmonary bypass.

b) Effect of Prophylactic Amiodarone in patients with Rheumatic Mitral Valve disease undergoing Mitral Valve replacement surgery.

c) Methyl- Prednisolone or Pentoxyfylline used along with low volume ventilation during cardiopulmonary bypass improves immediate postoperative outcome.

d) Awarded 30 European CME credits to provide CME activity to the medical specialists in NWAC World Anesthesia congress -2011 ROME (ITALY) by ECMEC (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education).

2. Won the prestigious JANAK MEHTA BEST PAPER AWARD for the paper Effect of Prophylactic Amiodarone in patients with Rheumatic Mitral Valve disease undergoing Mitral Valve replacement surgery, presented at the 14th National conference of Indian Association of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists held at Bangalore in February 2011.(IACTA-2011)

He is an auditioned artist in Violin from AIR/TV/ DOORDARSHAN since 1993. Presented 3 solo recitals in violin. Composed Music for SIET orissa; plays tabla, adept in playing synthesizers since 6 yrs of age and plays Spanish guitar, Hawaiian guitar, Mandolin and mouth organ.He has passed B.MUS (Bachelor of music) from Gandharva University (Mumbai) Hindustani Classical music in Violin.
