&& it's not about cutting, burning, bruising, scratching or crying yourself to sleep.
It's about the struggle to stay who you are when the sadness inside is trying to turn you into someone you're not.

A best friend is the one that can look back at you when you fall and ask you if you're okay and then fall over laughing.

Best friends are the friends that disagree with everything you say, argue with you at every chance they get, fight with you on the kitchen floor, destroy the good pillows and walk away with you at the end of the day laughing about it all.

They say 'dont hate yourself, he didn't deserve you.' and it's too right. Fk him. He hurt me, i hate him - why should i blame myself for what HE did?

And I sit here, listening to the fireworks and the clock ticking to midnight.
New year.
And i sit here, tears in my eyes and pain in my heart, drunk out of my mind - because i know that this year will be the same as any other.

Surrounded by fireworks, shadowed in the night, lost in the moment but I still know that it won't ever be alright.

A thousand new years could pass and i would still be in love with you and crying because I can't have you.

My new years resolution is to get -over- you.
the same as it has been for the past few years since you swept into my life and sent my heart a flutter with fears.

With every bang, with every cheer, with every kiss that couples share, with every laugh and drink that's raised - i will miss you here and a single tear will fall for every star int he sky that is lit by those memories of fireworks tonight.
