Ten Things You LOVE About your Partner

Hi All,
I noticed that a lot of posts on this dicussion board are just problems seeking advice. I understand that people need help sometimes, but I'd really like to know what ten things you all most love about your partner. If you are single, then you can list ten things you love about yourself, or your pet, or your parents / siblings / best friend. I mean, love comes in all shapes and sizes and is not just for lovers!

I'll start us off;
1. He is a fantastic conversationalist.
2. He is generous, to me, and to his friends, and to charity.
3. He tells me he loves me every single day.
4. He forgave me for a huge mistake I made which ended up costing him dearly.
5. He gives me time to be on my own and breathe.
6. He is very attractive (hey, I have to put that in here!)
7. He is honest about everything, even things he can't tell me.
8. He gets on really well with my family, including my parents.
9. He is mature.
10. He is intelligent, but wont correct me or state his opinion on something if he doesn't know enough about it to come to his own conclusion.

I think those are pretty good. =o)

I agree with you. This forum should be more about love and romance, not the flaws that are within the romance.

Also it seems like your partner really loves you and it's obvious you love him as well. It's very cute =] ok my turn then......

1.) I love how when ever I don't show up to our hangout spot or forget to call him he calls me and makes sure I'm ok before enjoying himself.
2.) He has respect for me as both a women and as an equal.
3.) I love how he is comfortable enough with himself that he doesn't care what he wears or how others percieve him, yet he's not cocky.
4.) He is supportive of my decisions even if he doesn't agree with them 100%
5.)He's his own person and doesn't let others persuade him
6.) I love that he isn't afraid to get in touch with his emotions even around his friends

1) He doesn't like to rush through things. He likes for things to happen slowly which I love!

My Eric..

1) He makes me smile when I feel like crying
2) He loves me unconditionally for who I am, not what I look like.
3) He talks to me everyday and constantly reminds me that he loves talking to me. I love this because all my exes hardly ever talked to me and i HATED that.
4) We can talk about the future and I know when he says something he means it. Like how the first day we talked, he promised to take me to homecoming, he did. He promised we'd spend a week together for winter break, we did. Now we promise to move in together in the summer. I can hardly wait.
5) He isn't ashamed to take me around his friends and family and likes going around my friends and family with me.
6) He waited to tell me he loved me. Instead of saying it right away and not meaning it, he waited nearly 4 months until he said it...he says he truly feels it. It was so worth the wait and just so much more meaningful to me.
7) He knows that neither of us have much money, so he is fine with just being with me. We don't ever do much, which i'm fine with too. =]
8) He makes me feel like i'm the only person for him and reminds me constantly he's never felt this way towards anyone else <3
9) He calls me every single night to tell me goodnight and to not have nightmares [and now that he loves me as well]. He has been doing that since a week before we even met in person!
10) We have almost everything in common. From random things like neither of us will eat anything with bones in it, to both of us liking the color blue, to similarities in names [Eric and Erika]. The only things we don't agree upon are: he likes fish, i dont. i love family guy, he doesnt. THATS IT.

haha. how come it's only women who reply to things like this?

1. He's the most intelligent person I know. Any question I ever have, I ask him, and he either knows or is quick to find out.

2. He's very articulate, and has no problem keeping up a conversation with anyone, especially me.

3. He's incredibly sweet, and is always thinking of new ways to make me smile.

4. He wrote me poetry once he found out that I write it.

5. He's patient, and despite a rather awkward situation, he stuck around and did nothing but try to help whenever possible.

6. He's always working on his little "projects", building stereos and such. I love to watch him work.

7. He's big and strong- makes me feel very safe.

8. He's sensitive, almost fragile sometimes. It makes me want to take care of him.

9. He can be a tad over-protective, but it's only because he worries about me so much that he drives himself crazy. It's nice to have someone care so much.

10. He's so blunt, to the point where I pretty much cringe whenever he says he has a question. But I like that he says what he's thinking, and I don't have to worry about him playing any stupid little games or anything.

I love what we have together. We don't hold back, we don't play games, we just give everything we have. It's the best kind of love to have. We both have so much love to give, and nobody really wanted it before. He's my best friend, and even though I don't really believe in soul mates, I already think he might be mine.

Ok, my Juanie-bear hehehe

1. How understanding he is. Even when I'm being completely silly and making no sense at all or I'm completely upset for no reason he's still understand and is there. He understands me better than anyone else, better than myself sometimes and he understands when I make mistakes.

2. How supportive he is. He supports my every idea and hope and dream even if it's completely different then what he wants or believes. He always takes my side, encourages me to dream and supports me ever step of the way no matter how hard.

3. His honesty. He's never lied to me once in our relationship, he promised me he wouldn't and he never has. He's not afraid to tell me the honest truth even if he knows it's going to hurt me a bit but even if it does he's right there to wipe my tears. He's honest about his feelings and thoughts and handles everything in his life with honesty.

4. How strong he is. Yes he's incredibly strong physically but thats not what I mean. He's the strongest person emotionally and mentally I've ever met. When life has brought him to his knees and everyone else would give up he's still strong, gets back up and keeps fighting for what he believes and the people he loves. He's a pillar of strength even when he thinks he's at his weakest and he gives every one around him strength to keep going too.

5. How compassionate he is. No matter how hard his life gets he is always compassionate towards the people around him and the people that aren't as blessed as he is.

6. How determined he is. Once he decides on something he doesn't quiet until he reaches his goal. I love how determined he is to make things better, to improve my views of myself, to not let his fathers memory down. It's frustrating sometimes because he becomes very one track minded sometimes because he's so set on something but it makes me steady.

7. How passionate he is. I love the passion he pours into everything he does. He pursues our dreams with such a burning passion that nothing stops him. I love the passion with which we argue and how passionately he loves me and my family and his. I love how he's passionate about his job, about life.

8. How I know I can always go to him. It still amazes me how I can go to him for everything. If I need advice, support, comfort, a shoulder to cry on, a reason to laugh again. Its very comforting and reassuring to know that no matter what I'm facing I can run to him and he'll stand by my side through any storm.

9. I love how open we are with each other and how we can talk about anything. It doesn't matter what it is, I know I can always talk to him about anything and everything on my mind or that I'm feeling and how he does the same.

10. I love his humor. How he loves playing jokes on people and making people laugh. No matter how bad things are he still keeps his sense of humor and laughs through it even when he's in serious pain. He makes everyone comfortable by laughing and joking and making them feel special. I love how me makes fun of me to make me laugh and makes jokes out of things so I don't feel so self-conscious and he makes me laugh when I'm nervous so I relax.

11. I love how sensitive he is. He's strong and has to be "the tough guy" but he still cries during sad or romantic movies and I've never met a man that feels things so deeply and sharply. He does kickboxing and he can just come back from a fight *as in a fight in the ring* and he goes mushy over a little baby, it's amazing and makes me want to take care of him and protect him.

12. His voice. Ok I can't help it, I have to mention it lol I love his voice and his incredible and hot Hispanic accent :D I love how his voice still causes butterflies in my tummy after almost a year and a half and how it always warms me up, makes me smile and melts my heart.

13. I love how he loves me the way I am. He knows all the things I've done in my past, everything about me and all my many faults and loves me just the way I am. He's never made me feel like I need to change or be someone I'm not, he loves me unconditionally. Instead of making me feel like I have to change, I want to change and become a better person to deserve him and his love.

14. How he cares what I think and feel. I love how he always wants to know how I feel about something or what I think. My opinion matters to him more then almost anything else. Instead of telling me what we're doing he says that since we're starting a life together then theres no him or me, theres us and we have to make the choices together.

15. I love how he listens to me like every word I say is important. Even when we're angry and arguing he always listens to what I feel, thinks about it and then talks to me about it and why he's upset. He listens to me even when what I'm saying doesn't make sense and I'm babbling, what I say is still important to him.

And 16. Simply because he is who he is and that he's mine :) I love what we've found together and who we are together.

Ok i love more then ten things about my boyfriend TIM so I'm going to list them all

1. He always makes me laugh.
2. He is always trying to tickle me.
3. He listens to me when I need to talk.
4. He doesn't get mad when I'm in a mood. ( I have violent mood swings some times)
5. He is a friendly guy.
6. He isn't like other guys.
7. He is always there for me.

1. He has NO idea how cute he is! His eyes, his chin, his body, his hair... just EVERYTHING!

2. His generosity. Even when we're short on money that month, he would rather make sure i have a full packed lunch for work and have a sandwich himself. I don't let him do it, but the amount of times i've found a sneaky choccie bar in my bag when lunch time rolls round =)

3. How even when we fight, you can see him struggling to stay mad. He ends up laughing at me and then i can't stay mad either, haha

4. How he knows ALL about my messed up past, family wise, friends wise, ex bf wise, and how silly and stupid i was with certain things and he still loves me regardless!

5. Even though i'm such an insecure person when he's around he makes me feel like the prettiest, luckiest girl in the world. He just fills my heart up!

6. When i wake up in the morning with messy hair and a pale face with sleepy eyes he kisses me and calls me his beautiful sweetie.

7. How he can't wait to start a family with me and move to a bigger house. Me!! He actually visualises growing old with me and from past experience most men run a mile at the sight of commitment, but he welcomes it with open arms.

8. How if anyone EVER says a bad word about me, he puts them straight, one of his oldest friends tried to make him break up with me and he dropped him in a flash. He picked me and i feel so loved for it. We've shown all the cynics anyway, three years, a house together and marriage on the way!

9. How is family have made me feel like one of the members. They are an extended mum and dad and sisters and they all encouarge us to make a life together.

10. I love him because he loves me, no matter what! We've had our troubles, we've had our fights but through out everything he has been my rock, my troubles with my mom, exes, friends, my nanna passing away, my insecurties, my health troubles, EVERYTHING! It's just easy honest love that we share and i wouldn't change him for the world.

I want to write so much more about him but it will bore you, haha.

I wrote my boyfriend, Sean, a list of 100 reasons why i love him!

hmm il try and summarise why i love him.

1. He was my best friend before my boyfriend, I completely admire a guy who will get to kno a girl realli well before taking it to a more serious level.

2. Because he listened to me, then took time to make me smile :) and he can still manage to make me smile no matter how sad/angry/lost/whatever i am. He onli has to think about making me smile and BAM im there.

3. I love his childish ways, how he can spend longer in a toy shop than i can in a shoe shop... and thats saying something!

4. That despite how i struggle to open up he is always there for me even when he has no idea what is going on and he always know exactly what to say to make it better.

5. That he lets me wake him up in the middle of th night for cuddles if i cant sleep. i love being in his arms, and he knows it. It makes me feel safety and comfort that i had not previously known.

6. That he is the best person to bitch with, if i has a problem with someone and start complaining, and he has never met them he will know the rioght payouts and stuff to make it all better.

7. That when we fight, even if i hav done something wrong, he will cave in and come crawling back and he is so apologetic and sincere and he knows how i am hurting too.. i love that

8. His physical appearence... He is soo adorable i love him i love him soo soo much, i can get lost in his eyes, or sucked in to his voice...

9. The way i miss him when he drops me home :( I love this because he feels it too and it is great knowing i have someone in my life who can make me feel sadness simply because i wont see them for 24 hours. to me that realli means something :)

10. The way he will drop what he is doing, get up at any hour of the morning to come and see me. The way he spontaneously buys me flowers, or writes me poems simply because he wants to. For no reason. He loves me so much, but i love him so much more =DDDDDD

Thanks for the post! I think this was a really sweet idea. It gives some people things to really think about; things that they appreciate and adore! :) But 10 things? I can double that, plus one!

1) He respects me both as a woman & the individual I am and treats me equally. He is always respectful of other people, even when some don't deserve the respect.

2) He supports me in everything that I do, all my dreams & all my plans and makes them part of his own too.

3) He his completely loyal to me, our family & friends through and through.

4) His intelligence, not as in he got the top marks in his class but as in, his way of thinking; opinions, ideas, morals, etc. They are so much like mine yet completely his own. The first night we met we walked through the town for hours exchanging those opinions, ideas & morals.

5) His individuality. He doesn't care about what other people think of him; the clothes he wears, the music he listens too, his beliefs, etc., & is not influenced by others. The only person whose opinion he cares for is mine & I respect him for who he is.

6) He's always, naturally, in a good mood & always has a true smile on his face; day or night. His laughter, it's downright contagious & imitatable! I just love his dimples!

7) Physically, besides from being all around gorgeous, I especially love his eyes. Looking into them is like gazing upon a single sunflower; its dark, round center & soft, golden petals, surrounded by a field; of dark, green grass, & sometimes I can't help but get lost. :)

8) He has both masculinity as well as sensitivity. He's strong where it matters most & weak in all the right places. ;)

9) He enjoys hearing what I have to say as well as joining into the conversation or starting one. He talks to me openly about anything & everything, we have no secrets.

10) If we ever get into an argument, as a rule, we always make up by the end of the night. We haven't used that rule as of yet because we haven't even remotely had an argument that lasted that long.

11) He wrote a poem especially for me about the first night we'd kissed.

12) I can't help but relax & listen with awe while he plays his guitar & sings for me; whether it be by my side or over the phone. :)

13) Sometimes, in bed, he starts to death roll & wind all the blankets around him because he very well knows that I'm up to the challenge of retrieving & wrestling them away from him! It's also very cute to see him grab my pillow & hug it to his chest when I'm not by his side. He's a morning person, just like me, even though he doesn't admit it. :P

14) When we go for a walk; outside, in a mall, etc., he always holds my hand.

15) When he brings me flowers. Like once on Valentines Day, when everyone else got Carnations he went out of his way & bought me a Rose.

16) He tries hard, sometimes too hard, to make me happy when, really, it doesn't take much except his love & company. :)

17) He's affectionate & romantic and is not afraid to be so in private or public, physically or verbally. He's a constant flirt with me & I with him. To some this may be alien but for us we enjoy flirting with one another probably more so with each other than if we were single & if it were with random people. Some of the most romantic things he's said are, "You are the most beautiful thing that nature has given to me." & "Nothing & no one can match your character, beauty & love." One of our most romantic moments was our first kiss, where we were laying out under the stars & full moon in the country listening to the coyote howl. :)

18) He gets along with my family & I get along with his. He & his family considers me to be a part of their family and my family & I consider him to be a part of ours. He enjoys talking about our future ahead; the things we'll do & the things we'll have.

19) Even though we don't completely have the same interests he at least tries to take interest & get involved in the things I'm in, as well as he tries to get me interested & involved in his.

20) He gets jealous when other guys try to flirt with me or gawk at me. I know that sounds weird, but sometimes it's rather flattering & lets me know he's not letting me go without a fight. :P

21) He loves me for who I am, inside and out; body, mind & soul, and reminds me ever day! :)

Sorry if it's too long for anyone to want to read, I know I'm a ranter but I can't help but brag about my love. :)

1.) One of the best mothers I know.
2.) She tries her hardest to give me everything.
3.) She wants more time with me even when I'm being a meany.
4.) She loves me no matter what.

1) He is always there for me when I need him

7) sometimes he is so sweet and when I am not expecting it

11) He isn't ashamed to kiss me or hold my hand or put his arm around me in front of his friends. I have never had a boyfriend who wasn't embarrassed of me before...

12) He isn't disgusted by my flaws. I've burped in front of him unintentionally, accidentally bled on him, and puked in his yard when i got food poisoning, but instead of getting disgusted he just gives me a hug and tells me not to be embarrassed...

13) He can look into my eyes for hours and we don't need to talk...we can basically hear what the other is thinking

14) He trusts me and values that I trust him. He knows I would never do anything to intentionally hurt him, and he knows that I don't need to check up on him. If he's going out, he's going out. I don't need to know with who and where, that's his choice if he wants to tell me. Much the same he doesn't question me about where I'm going and with who.

15) He does everything he can to see me as often as he can. Even though it's hard because of all the miles between us [even though 116 miles isnt as many miles as many of the LDR out there], we still manage to see each other 2x a month, even though he has no car and I am only allowed to drive up there once a month. He has begged, pleaded, and done all the favors he can to get a car to come see me, and I am truly grateful that I am worth all that effort to him <3

^ Haha, I laughed at that one! That's actually something that I could contribute to my list as well. I'm a belcher! :) Of course when in public I retain myself & do have manners, but other than that when alone with him & my family I let it out; LOUD & PROUD! He doesn't mind at all, he just smiles & laughs.

22) I love the way we cuddle, whether it be while watching a movie or while we doze off to sleep together. :)

23) He's my best friend!

1.) Though we're far apart, he makes sure to let me know that he loves and is missing me whenever he can.

2.) He makes me more comfortable around him than I've ever been with anyone else in my life.

5.) His voice is angelic and the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. Every word in that lyrical voice makes my heart melt. I lose all breath and my heart feels like it stops whenever my phone rings and it's him on my caller ID.

6.) No matter what he says, does, no matter how mad I get at him, I could never stay mad. I would honestly rather argue with him than kiss someone else. But I know deep down that he truly loves me back and would never hurt me on purpose.

7.) Though other girls are beautiful, hit on him, try flirting with him... he lets everyone know that I'm his # 1. Whatever happens, whatever girl he may get with, in the end... he said,"You're what I really want. And no matter how much time passes. No matter who may come along. I will always love you more than anything in the world."

8.) I love how he's a mixture of bad boy, a romantic, amazing, butthead, crazy lover. I was the good girl and he was the bad boy. We fell in love. Just like in the movies =] and now we're separated in body. But not by heart.

9.) His hand fits perfectly in mine. My body is the right size to fit into his arms. Whenever he held me, I felt whole. He would randomly kiss my forehead, in front of all of his friends, and remind me that he loved me. He has always been good to me.

10.) My Tyler... he has taught me so many life lessons. Because of him, I have learned not to take anything for granted. Being apart from him, not being able to talk much, has made me learn to cherish every second you spend with your loved one. Even if it doesn't work out between us, I will carry what he has taught me throughout my entire life.

2. From day one he was never afraid to tell me loves me and he never fails to prove that staement everyday!
3. He is absolutely adorable in everyway he doesn't see... his dimples his laugh the way he tries to not be "cute" cause he's tough and manly but really we both know he's absolutely adorable.
4. He has ambition, dreams a sense of desire to do something with his life, and he actually achieves those goals!

^ I know how you feel. My boyfriend & I stay up all night on the phone as well, even when we have nothing to say (but not because something was bothering us). I enjoy just listening to the sound of his breathing over the other line; just knowing he's there. I actually even fell asleep once listening. :)

1. he loves that I don't like him getting me flowers, etc (although he still does it) because I want something that isn't easily given, and is very happy that I just WANT him. Not material objects. :]

2. He thinks my defects (i.e. my eye defect, and that I can't sleep without pills) are amazing even though they can hurt me physically, he says they show I'm not perfect and he loves that I'm not, he doesn't want someone perfect, he just wants someone like me. :]

3. His musical talent; It's amazing this boy. He can play the guitar beautifully, the piano like i've never seen, and the drums almost as well as Lexi, which is a great feat, and best of all, he does it all by ear!

4. His modesty; Its frustrating and adorable at the same time. :]

His flaws, I love that he'll tell me or show me a side of him that most wouldn't like, sometimes it affects me, but any time it does, like if he gets a little angry and he sees that it scares me his entire body fills with sorrow and he apologizes a billion times no matter how many times I say its ok, since after all, he's never gotten angry with me, just others. :]

6. How he can say just ONE word to me, and I'll burst out laughing in the middle of class, or even church. He does it on purpose cos he thinks its funny, and even though I'll get testy with him, I can never seem to stay mad at him for more then a few seconds.

7. He's not a very romantic guy, and he knows it, but he tries his best and that's all I could ever ask for :p

8. I love his eyes and just about everything about him, he tends to change how he looks occasionally, but every time it seems that no matter what he does, his eyes are always the same, the same soft, gentle brown that always ruins his bad-boy appearance. :]

He knows when to be serious and understanding, but he also knows when to make me laugh and smile (which for him is amazingly easy to do), people always ask why I fell for someone whos so crazy and hyper, but I just laugh because I think its adorable, and they have no idea just how sweet and calm he can be. :]

10. He has his secrets, and I have mine, he respects that, he doesn't try to pry into things he knows are too personal right now, but he always lets me know no matter what he's there for me, and will always be there if I need to talk, about anything.

12. I absolutely love how we'll be sitting in class, on the opposite sides of the room, staring into eachothers eyes, and how even if the teacher calls on him, he won't look away until he absolutely has to, and how we can tell how eachother are feeling just by looking into eachothers eyes.

13. He's best friends with my best friend, and I am with his, we understand eachother and just GET each other, we don't have to try to understand, we just already do.

14. He thinks every thing I do is adorable, even my hiccup -.- and he never tires of listening to me talk.
