    I don't have an idol.

Ever since I was little, I never really had a role model to look up to. Actually, I don't think I've ever looked up to anyone. My parents were a bad influence and had no common knowledge about the world around them. I taught myself most of what I know now. I had to grow up fast to take care of my brother because my parents didn't pay any attention to him. So, no I never had an idol.

Not having a role model is different than not having an idol. And having an idol does in no way need to involve worshipping. By definition, it does.. but "idol," as a term, is used so loosely these days that it simply means someone you respect, admire, and aspire to be similar to.

In which case I might have to say Angelina Jolie. Intelligent, beautiful, elegant... She has a heart of gold. That and she's badass!

Ask this question to a group of people, you'll get a list of names. Ask this question to a group of poets, you'll get answers... like these. Too funny!

I don't know that there is someone that I consider to be my idol (I only look up & to myself). But, I do know that there are some people I do consider to be an inspiration; who are influential to me.

My grandfather. He had been struggling with cancer for many years. He'd went into surgery and came out successful, but no more than half an hour later passed away from a major heart attack. Even though he was seriously weak from the cancer, you would have never have even guessed that he had it at all. Even in his last few weeks when the cancer physically stripped him, in his eyes, you could see just how full of life, faith and love he still was. Before the surgery, he told my grandma that he was ready if it was his time to go. For my grandpa to be able to move on with his life, not to give up faith, to continue to love and to accept his death, I am inspired. I hope that one day I can be as strong, faithful and courageous.

Another person who amazes me is my 5yr old cousin; my little man; my shadow. He loves me, so much, and I love him, beyond words. When he was born, I was going through a rough patch in my life. But that first day I got to hold him, I knew my life was changed. He may not have given birth to him, but he's still my boy; my son; the apple of mine eye.

....Talking about my grandpa and my boy is making me tear up, lol. :')

Pumpkin, is that your feminine side showing? Or are you just being a royal "stem"? :P

Lmao, pumpkin joke(s), and so early in the season too. Well, happy pre-Halloween! What are you going to carve yourself into?

And yeah, I am a little sensitive, at the moment. That little cousin of mine has cancer.

My idol would probably be Bob Dylan or Neil Young.

They are both folklore singers and they protest against certain things.

You guys should check them out. They have good music

Wouldn't say Malcolm's beliefs were exactly moving towards King's. King was interested in helping humanity as a whole, while Malcolm was exclusively concerned with blacks.

Both of their goals were toward better equality, but they had different methods of getting there, and I don't believe Malcolm's was the best method. I get that toward the end of his life he changed his views to perhaps become more like MLK's, it makes sense for someone to take a second look at what they believe after they've received death threats. I'm not saying what he stood for wasn't important or that MLK was better, all I'm saying is that I don't believe they're exactly on the same page.

"Well I believe it's a sin to be an idiot so.. where does that put you."
    Hell?
    Kidding, of course.

I am on the list George Carlin made of people that should be killed

My daddy used to say it is no disgrace to be an idiot it is just unhandy as hell

To quote Joan Baez "idols are best when they are made of stone"

She was referring to my idol Bob

You could have said Jesus was your idol and it would have been fine, but the fact that you basically called us all sinners for saying other people were our idols is a bit insulting. It was only funny to me, however, because you're wrong anyway. In the bible it says do not WORSHIP idols. Nobody is worshipping, we're just naming people who are influences in our lives.
