idea~

this is just an idea but i think that we should have a place where we can talk about politics. It seems that lots of people like to talk bout it, but no one is sure where to put the topics. just a thought.
ne one like idea?

Hey! Better yet, add an "intelligence" forum. Considering all the threads that require any have to be weeded around "My boifrend cheatd on me fo da 5th time or somethn, bt I love him soooooooo bad, and so I cut cause imon die without hm" and "keebler cookies, or twinkies?"

Maybe get an IQ test result before we let people in.

Put philosophy, current world events, & politics in that category.

I would like to get the intellectual topics in one place too, because im sick and tired of weeding through the suicide, cutting and cutting topics to get to them.

By the way people, I think (or hope) that Bret was kidding about the forum being members only. We cant exclude people based on stupidity, no matter how much it may please some of us (oops), that would be discriminatory and racist of us.

It isn't a matter of racism, just pompous elitism. As much as I am all for that sometimes (it saves on nurofen/advil) we can do without it.

Racist is commonly used for judging someones skin colour. Prejudice would more be used as judging someones sexuality and maybe religion and all that.

I agree, I think a "Politics" or as Kaitlin has pointed out "General Intelligence" forum would be ideal

I agree, there should be a topic for serious discussions, but surely people would still post silly/idiotic discussions. THus, bringing us back to square one. x

I dont necessarily agree... the people who arent interested will not go into that forum and the idiotic posts will be moved to the correct forum by the moderators. Problem solved.

People post in the wrong category all the time, it will always be a small problem, but by getting a new section that encourages deeper thinking more people will be willing to post things.

that's already been done, Bob.... we each have one or two categories to keep track of.... but of course, we all can take care of anything we see in any category...

I'm sure Janis and Dainz can see what we do (at least if we delete threads/posts... I don't know if edits show up) and if we edit/delete/lock unnecessarily, I'm sure we will be called on it.
