    Hellon: you're hilarious.

Also, I'd like to point out that this thread has really taken a turn from its original intent. Apologies to the original poster.

Ugh. I've no time for this. I feel bad for hijacking the thread with a ridiculous argument that's turned into nothing but insults. Again, if you want to go on calling me 'a little kid' and thinking that you need the last word, feel free. That is what internet forums are for after all, right?

Mods, I've already edited my posts but feel free to take anything out that is off topic from the thread.

Thanks and sorry again to the original poster.

Now go, ArtistrySoul! This is your chance to have the last word, take it and relish the moment with all of your might, YOU CAN DO IT!

Do people believe in ghosts because there is a lack of wonder in the world? Or is it a fear of death etc?

I am constantly baffled by how easily people accept very unlikely explanations, it's amazing!

  • Britt

I think some people hope for something more, something later. Hollywood has given many plenty reasons to believe, if Hollywood does it there are some who will believe til the end its true.

I used to believe in ghosts... But as I get older, I believe in them less and less. It's seems more like a childhood fascination.

I believe in ghost and it's probably due to the lack of explanations, after analyzing the obvious ones and not fitting to the occasion, so there is no other way to explain it other than ghosts.

    Edit: not for fear.

Hey Everlasting, I'm going to assume you had some kind of experience which you can't explain. I won't ask, or be as arrogant as I usually am and assume I can explain it. : )

Odd things have happened to me also that to this day, I don't fully understand.

What I do know is even without a clear answer, the most likely explanation is something very normal I haven't discovered yet.

  • L

Hi Kevin, thanks for not asking because it's hard to explain them.

But to me the explanation for why those experiences happened are ghost and to be honest that sounds pretty normal to me, hehe, but it depends from person to person.
some people find it hard to believe in what it cannot be seen,
While others can simply believe base on what they feel or what they have experienced.
I guess, I'm one of those who believe on what she feels base on what she has experienced.

But I do hope that you can find the explanations that you are looking for, I also hope that I could find them too someday.

Anywho, this is one of those topics that are too sensible to talk about but at the same time that is interesting.

It has been fun reading everyones opinion.

I've seen a ghost a few times now.

Freaks the shit out of me, but i also know it's my mind creating this image out of guilt, usually tiredness + every time but one i was coming off a heavy a-class substance(S) of some description.

Ghosts aren't real as far as I'm concerned, though i'm open to the possibility only because the nature of the universe is so vastly complicated and wild that it's possible other dimensions cross into ours, or 'energy' seeps out in unusual ways. but my main belief is dead is dead and i doubt any evidence will ever show me otherwise.

^ i had to read this a few times over, then realised; and lol'd hard.

mind surely that's what all knowledge is?

    or is that the point.

god i don't get sarcasm haha.

  • Kevin

In your mind, not in the world.

  • Sean

Let's not start this Kevin, :P

For what is the world without a mind to perceive and understand it. So facts which exist outside of the mind, aren't really facts. or some other ill-researched understanding of philosophy silly point. i'm just writing for the sake of BOREDOM MY GOD.

    sorry, :P

I'm bored too.. The mind is strong but it cannot see what is unseen.

I'm not sure why Sean thinks I was being sarcastic and I'm not sure if Kevin understands me or Sean.

I'm just not sure what's real any more.

Yup, it's a very profound concept.

  • Sean

    Lol, seriously.

    now they DEF exist.

    i'm one.

I like the product "I can't believe it's not butter", because when I eat breakfast, sometimes,I like to be incredulous!

Occasionally I like to mix "I can't believe it's not butter", with butter to make, "I can believe some of it is butter".

I was in a cafe and the waitress asked if I wanted butter with my scones.

"I don't know what to believe anymore" I said.

    : )

  • L

If it taste like butter, I guess it's butter.

From what the media has made public anyone following the ghost of the victim would have to be an idiot to believe the Martin shooting was a clean cut case of self defence

The reason I posted here was the audio of the accused sounds much clearer to me than the Ghost audio I have heard interpreted by Ghost hunters

Hey Mello, can you describe in as much detail as you can one of the times you saw a ghost? I'd be interested to know location, time, the conditions of the location (IE, lighting).

Well OK. so this one time i was taking a walk down some street by a high school in a nearby town, i wont tell you the location because that isn't important, i had my ipod in with Korn playing, i remember the song too. evolution, and anyway even with the head phones in i heard this ungodly mechanical screech that had words attached to it, i couldn't understand and out of sheer fright i turned right and by the bleachers was a small petite all white little girl, i place her age around maybe 14 or 15. she had these glowing eyes, and when i saw her she simple came closer to me in a rush and dissipated. i continued to look for her for about a month, i would see her often and right around the marker of a month i stopped seeing her,

also on Christmas eve when my father and i took a trip to New York on our way home something huge and i mean New jersey devil huge jumped out in front of his truck, we caught a quick glimpse of it before it jumped into the woods. without me saying a word my father just looked at me and said "you saw that too?'

also when i was living with my grandmother i saw a silhouette of an older man in rubber fishing pants, a red flannel shirt and fisherman gear, when i asked my grandmother about this man she gave me a picture of her relative and to my surprise was the same man in the same outfit, and also when me and my sister were little, she told me that we used to talk to this man, as his spirit was haunting the joint, and also the dog we had there would always just bark and the hallways without anything being there, and the dog barked as if something was taunting it. and every time i was there i always had an eerie feeling i was being watched, i am from new jersey and like the magazine weird new jersey, ghosts are abundant here, i don't want any disputes on the matter if your from Jersey i bet you have seen a ghost too. i have two more ghost stories but that's for another time, perhaps in a poem?

    hope that helps

I did read it. Those stories are cool, but apart from the one where "something" jumped out in front of your Dad's truck, they are all highly subjective. In other words, for all you know what you saw was only in your own mind (if you don't believe it is possible to see strange things that no one else can see, because your body is created the illusion...do some reading on hullucinations or LSD). I am not for a second saying you were on drugs, just trying to point out there are other possibilites for seeing odd things that you don't seem interested in allowing.

The thing with your Dads truck. That could have been anything. You never got a good look at it, or you would have decribed it more clearly. I'm not even sure why you included it in a ghost story post, given we all know it's animals that run out in front of cars suddenly.

Police officers are very aware of the tricks our memories can play on us, especially after a violent or powerful event where we're trying to understand what happened.. This is one reason witness testimony needs to be backed up be other evidence to stand up in court.

  • Sean

Whenever i've seen odd things; figures or living shadows - it's always at times of psychological stress for me at the time; in other words i hallucinate!

Which is why you never get 200 odd people on a street saying 'hey THERES A BLOODY GHOST!'

which surely should have happend at-least once if they were real in the course of 500 years of 'good' written history

Also I have been more recently going on weird NJ hunts for the last few weeks. I went to the Marlboro slaughter house. The Dempsey House. Igoe Road. Castle Park. Lots a cool stuff.
